Week 4 BOC: Omnicom and Publicis

Two big Advertising agencies have come together. The amount they make combined before they came together was a large $23 billion dollars, now we estimate by the end of 2014 that amount, now that they are the same company will have grown to $35 billion dollars. They are the world’s largest advertising agencies.
“Publicis and Omnicom, two of the largest global advertising agency holding companies, today confirmed that they will merge.”
“After 30 months, Levy will become non-executive chairman and Wren will become CEO.”

Though, now there is or may be a possible issue with the agencies coming together. This is because one own Pepsi and another owns Coca Cola. Though, this would be fine if the two companies weren’t rivals. I guess we honestly just have to wait to see how everything all plays out. If they work things properly, both Coke and Pepsi product owners will be equally wealthy.
“Client conflicts also could be an issue, as rivals such as Coca-Cola Co., PepsiCo, McDonald’s, Yum Brands’ Taco Bell, Johnson & Johnson and Procter & Gamble now find themselves under the same umbrella.”

The main building, like the “command center” will be in the Netherlands like listed below. They will also still have their main offices in New York and Paris too. Though, because they are two different companies that are held in different countries, coming together may be a challenge. Without competition, profit may or may not increase like they had hoped. Separately they are incredibly wealthy, strong companies; we just do not know how well they will hold up together with no completion and their competitors now being under the same roof.
The new holding company will be based in the Netherlands, while the operating offices will remain in Paris and New York
