Final Project : Analysis Of Project In The Real World

You analyze a problem by defining all its important factors, as well as the immediately apparent options for solutions. Then you synthesize, that is, combine the factors and options to produce a matrix containing possible solutions.
We thoroughly went over all of the design details in the car, all the positives and all the negatives have been 100% inspective to ensure that everyone is getting the full luxury of their dream car.
You analyze a problem by defining all of the important factors, which some call the parameters, as well as the options.
We've defined all problems, which is what Volkswagen used to be know for, the Bug and the Lemon...
Unlike outbound advertising or a campaign that runs for a period of time in various media, a platform is owned media rooted in utility and built to last, offering a constant connection.
In all reality this is a great car, for a great cost with a kick of luxury. It welcomes you. It is not to big nor to small. It is a perfect size car to give you just enough room and just enough storage so that you can go on long road trips comfortably. This car come with GPS to help you navigate the roads more efficiently. This is the car for you. Luxury For A Lifetime.

Final Project : Creative Content

A group of locals will be involved, bringing them in, in bus fulls to show that this car is for everyone, we will have;
the family,
the college student,
the teacher,
the doctor,
the lawyer,
the construction worker,
the sweet sixteen girl,
the single dad,
the top super model
all at the Volkswagen dealership finding that perfect car that they will drive off the lot with.
We will have each of them talking to separate car sales men, to show that you'll never be kept waiting at our Volkswagen dealership, that there will always have someone to help you, this will be promoting our luxury slogan.
We will have all different colors and styles for each of the people at the dealership then we will have them driving away one by one to show that This Is Luxury For A Lifetime.
All In a 30 second video to keep the attention of everyone.
When creating an ad, which comes first, the line, the main verbal message, or the visual? It depends. Here are a few common scenarios:
CHANGE:
> What kind of change do people want
> How things change
> Why things change
> How you can affect change yourself
CHOICES:
> How people make choices
> What are the consequences of those choices
> How the brand or group can change those choices or consequences

Final Project : Promotion

A creative team knocks ideas back and forth and settles on a couple of ideas, and then the team's members go their separate ways—the writer writes and the art director designs, both working on the ideas they generated together.
A story has to address the brand and make it the “hero” or even the “action hero” of the story. Good brand stories have a conflict, as exemplified by these classic campaigns:
Person against himself/herself (“Just Do It”)
Person against environment (“Don't leave home without it.”)
Person against person (“I Want My MTV!”)
This image is simply showing that this car is for everyone, it is comfort and it is luxury. It is the Luxury for a Lifetime and once you are in one you'll never turn back, you will want this car for a lifetime, because it only gets better every time.

Final Project : The Big Idea

Who? > What? > Where? > When? > Why? > How?
Everyone is welcome to join the beauty that the Volkswagen Jetta has to offer. You can go online to order your customized luxury ride or you can even go to your local Volkswagen dealership and spot the car that is right for you, who knows they might just even have the one that suits you better there at your local dealership. The release of the new Jetta is coming really soon, keep your eyes pealed, so you don't miss out on the great deals that may come your way, the great deals that the dealerships will sell you on, who knows you could get a gas car or even better 2,000 off on your Volkswagen Jetta today.
What are we trying to accomplish, who and why for.
We are trying to get the Public to understand that the Volkswagen is more than a Bug, or even a Lemon, don't let the old ads fool you, we a a very successful German brand that brings the success into your car as well, we want to make you feel comfortable and at home in the car you are driving. We want you to understand that our luxury vehicle is the one for you, and you will love it.Several steps are involved in concept generation: Defining the problem
Our only problem now is getting the lovely people who want to enjoy this luxury in the Jetta and driving there future car today.

Final Project : Competitive Analyses

Delineate the particular product, service, or group you are selling or promoting.
If you remember the VW Lemon and how that car sold people back then, then you might know a bit about Volkswagen and what they have to offer. The Jetta is the car that Volkswagen offers on the cheaper side. It's a small comfortable sedan that gives you the feeling of luxury, comfort, smoothness. Its a great ride to get you where you need to go and the thing is Volkswagen offers several different styles of this car to better fit you, the person who will be driving it for a lifetime. Who doesn't want an affordable car that can be customized to satisfy your needs and your wants.
One member of the team thinks of a line or a visual, and they go from there. At times, the writer can generate a visual idea.
Based on an idea generated by the team, the visual and the line are born concurrently.
The problem sticking with Volkswagen is that key word, 'Lemon'. It turns people away. Not only that not everyone sees Volkswagen as a luxury car, they vision the VW Bug, a small cramped car, and I honestly wouldn't want to be cramped in the car I'm driving. We are improving the name of Volkswagen by show and explaining to our customers what the Jetta has to offer, several different styles to fit that specific person, we are selling the car as Luxury for a Lifetime.

Week 7 EOC: The Pitch.

So today I am offering you an  extremely affordable, yet comfortable and gorgeous new ride, the all new 2014 Volkswagen Jetta with a combined 28 miles to the gallon. With this car you not only get great gas millage but you also get a safe and affordable ride to take you where you need to go and honestly who wouldn't want that. This car comes with several different styles to help suit the person who is behind the wheel. We have basic models for those who are looking on the cheaper end of the car buying side, we offer our Jetta's starting at a low 15,000, they do increase from there but only to meet your custom needs, and wants. This is the point in the process to keenly critique your own concepts. This step requires evaluating, assessing, and logically supporting your viewpoint.

Week 10 EOC: Game Plan For Final Project

Where are you in your project?
15% done
I need to go through and re change my original idea, pick a new car and find new details out.

Today I am going to finial 3 weeks of work by going in and getting all the information for the car I am going to be selling. I need to take pictures and come up with a new slogan. I am going to re-create an ad campaign and make it the most desirable car to buy. It will be a luxury version of what use to be a cheaper car, but with every upgrade this will be the car to own. The car you'll crave and will dream of owning, the car that you will buy.  I am going to be selling a 2014 Volkswagen Jetta. Something created from the think small campaign. It will be in a distinctive color and have a very relaxing and inviting interior.

2014 Volkswagen Jetta : Luxury For A Lifetime

Luxury For A LifeTime
An idea is the creative reasoning underlying a design application, the guiding concept that determines how you design; it is the primary abstract idea. It sets the framework for all your design decisions.
Delineate the particular product, service, or group you are selling or promoting. > Answer the fundamental question about a benefit: “What's in it for me?”
This simply means the car you'll be driving in, may not look the most luxurious but I promise you the luxury of the interior, the smooth ride, the comfort of the seats say it all. This is the all new affordable Volkswagen Jetta, your luxury for a lifetime. It can be a family sedan or just a car for the single person to drive, it is affordable, why go out and spend 60,000 on an audi when you can buy the 2014 Jetta MSRP from $15,545*.
Most ideas require refinement to strengthen them and to ensure they will work in practice.
Also this luxury ride is a 4-door, in other words it is more spacious then the average. The gas millage is great as well, getting you a combined 28 miles to the gallon. If this doesn't make you want to jump on a great deal then maybe the fact that it is a safe affordable ca, maybe, possibly even a car that is fit for a teenager to drive, it is affordable. This is definitely the car for anyone and everyone, your Luxury For A Lifetime.

Week 6 BOC: Duck Dynasty Trend

I believe that Duck Dynasty has its perks. For starters it shows its viewers how they started from the bottom and grew to the top, and how they now have a super successful TV show and business.
Duck Dynasty"Duck Dynasty, a family who owns a multimillion-dollar duck calls business in the swampy boondocks of Louisiana.” They are a group of related/ close family red necks who have a large business selling duck calls and it turns out this is one of the best reality shows of the time.
“It scored 9.6 million viewers for its April 24 finale.” They are the top in there category.
“The sons’ wives deciding to give Phil and Kay a wedding present for their 49th anniversary that they couldn't afford back then.” Though they a comical red necks, they do have high family values.
“Phil Robertson, the Duck Commander Creator and papa of the Robertson clan, recently told Parade that he (and his epic beard) plans to leave the show in the near future.”
This being stated more people will probably try to get into the business world to get on their level. Though in reality that won’t be the case, according to the show, Duck Dynasty may be at its end, for one of the cast members plans on leaving the show quite soon. So what shall the future of reality TV be, well first there was Honey-Boo-Boo, they've also had crocodile hunters, now duck calls, and they have also had Buck Wild. It seems as though the redneck trend won’t end. So commercials will probably now involve what woman and men both want in one, family oriented yet with a guy’s dream job. TV and Advertising will most likely never be the same.

Week 5 EOC: Fixing JC Penny's

“They rose almost 11 percent late Monday after Penney confirmed it had ousted Ron Johnson as chief executive, but the stock slid when the company said Ullman was back.”
“Ron Johnson was running Apple’s stores, which had the highest profit per square foot of any retail chain in America. Sure he would bring the Midas touch to JC Penney they gave him a $50M sign-on bonus and complete latitude to do as he wished. “
Why’ll Ron Johnson was CEO at JCP for a whole 17-months, he made the store tank. He may have been very successful at Apple, but it seems clothing is not his expertise. He was so successful that he had the highest profit per square foot. So, JCP decided to sign him on and because of this the store may not recover from this hit. Over 111 years of JCP and the store may be over. So when JCP got rid of Ron, profits went up, until they brought Ullman back.
“He intends to return to JCP’s legacy, buy more newspaper coupons, and keep doing more of the same.”
I think that a good way for JCP to get on top is to bring in some new fresh designers that everyone love, but sell the products at the lowest end cost they can go. Like bring in knock off items that look lovely. Possibly get some new and fresh clothes, and especially new, fresh, and outstanding advertisements that are kid friendly, so that when kids watch shows on nick and Disney they will see their favorite stars where amazing clothes sold at JCP. Also they should take shows that every adult watches and do the same, like have Miley Cyrus on Two and a Half Men go shop at JCP. Or even have Project Runway do a episode where they use JCP items and reinvent them and then the top two products designed be sold at their store. It would bring a lot of publicity and sky rocket sales.

EOC Week 4:Women in Advertising

Man: “Gosh, Honey, you seem to thrive on cooking, cleaning and dusting. And I’m all tuckered out by closing time. What’s the answer?”
Woman: “Vitamins, Darling! I always get my vitamins.”
Advertising with women I personally believe has become more vulgar. Before, it seemed to appear to be completely and horribly sexist. Like the ad above; “So the harder a wife works, the cuter she looks.” In that statement it shows how woman were house wife’s and suppose to do all the work around the house so that when their husbands came home they could cater to them. Or the second ad stating; “keep her where she belongs….” Well first, where exactly does she belong?  It seems as though they are implying, if you want your wife to stick around and be a house wife, you need to buy her lavishing things.
In the new age ad it shows us how men drinking sky Vodka are classy. Yet, why is the woman in this photo wearing a dental floss bikini? It makes me think that they are implying it’s classy for men to drink but trashy for woman to. Like if you are a fancy business man and you see a triple D woman lying there in her bikini, all you have to do is offer her a drink and she’ll be all over you. Otherwise, why would this man be standing over her…

With this being stated, ads really haven’t seemed to change much, other than making a woman out to be a total whore. These ads truly show the different roles the males and females play in ads. For a man to sell a product well he dresses classy. For a woman to sell a product well, they must degrade themselves.

Week 4 BOC: Omnicom and Publicis

Two big Advertising agencies have come together. The amount they make combined before they came together was a large $23 billion dollars, now we estimate by the end of 2014 that amount, now that they are the same company will have grown to $35 billion dollars. They are the world’s largest advertising agencies.
“Publicis and Omnicom, two of the largest global advertising agency holding companies, today confirmed that they will merge.”
“After 30 months, Levy will become non-executive chairman and Wren will become CEO.”
http://www.forbes.com/sites/jenniferrooney/2013/07/28/publicis-and-omnicom-merge-creating-worlds-biggest-advertising-company/
Though, now there is or may be a possible issue with the agencies coming together. This is because one own Pepsi and another owns Coca Cola. Though, this would be fine if the two companies weren’t rivals. I guess we honestly just have to wait to see how everything all plays out. If they work things properly, both Coke and Pepsi product owners will be equally wealthy.
“Client conflicts also could be an issue, as rivals such as Coca-Cola Co., PepsiCo, McDonald’s, Yum Brands’ Taco Bell, Johnson & Johnson and Procter & Gamble now find themselves under the same umbrella.”
http://business.time.com/2013/07/28/omnicom-publicis-to-combine-into-biggest-ad-firm/
The main building, like the “command center” will be in the Netherlands like listed below. They will also still have their main offices in New York and Paris too. Though, because they are two different companies that are held in different countries, coming together may be a challenge. Without competition, profit may or may not increase like they had hoped. Separately they are incredibly wealthy, strong companies; we just do not know how well they will hold up together with no completion and their competitors now being under the same roof.
The new holding company will be based in the Netherlands, while the operating offices will remain in Paris and New York

Week 3 EOC: Tabacco Advertising

The article telling the public that more doctors smoke CAMEL cigarettes, thus advertising CAMELS, it also is showing famous people on the bottom and what cigarettes they smoke. Like Marilyn Monroe smoking.
The main image is of a doctor smoking a cigarette and he is also in his office, most likely at his desk.
The people shown in this advertisement are every day, well known people who smoke more than once or twice a day, people that smoke religiously.
They appear to be enjoying their cigarettes, even the serious faced doctor with a smirk on his face; you can still tell he enjoys them.
Their goal is promoting cigarettes, showing it’s cool to smoke. Even now a day you see doctors smoking still, even though they know what it does to people. It’s an addiction they may possibly enjoy having.
Smoking probably doesn't seem as harmful to people during this time. So like most people they smoke to relieve stress, it’s just what people do. If it takes the stress out of their lives, who are we to question them on why they smoke.
The iconic faces shown are people whom we have all seen advertising smoking/ cigarettes for years, and we honestly do not question them on their actions. Though now we can help but question stars and other every day civilians on why they smoke. Like I had stated before, who are we to honestly question people on why they do what they do. People are their own spokesperson, we can’t control them.
The outcomes of advertisements such as this, do get more and more people to smoke/ continue smoking, and those of which that do have kids, they usually end up smoking, but this is because they grew up around it. Though there are probably multiple cases where parents have suffered due to smoking, which may lead to their children never touching a cigarette. It’s just more common to see people smoking. Like someone had said, “population control”.

Week 3 EOC: Rolling Stone MAgazine

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev boston bomber
Strengths
Weaknesses
Opportunities
Threats

The strengths in this article show us how many people we let into this damn country, and how they have tried to kill us… Kudos to the Americans for letting in Jahars brother even though he was on a watch list.
Weaknesses, it stereotypes people that smoke pot. Now we don’t have a damn clue what the signs are in mini terrorist, so we are screwed. What’s next, if you are caught smoking weed you’ll have to go to prison for 15 years, for possibly getting so high that you’ll blow everyone up… I’m pretty sure us “stoners” don’t sit there and think about being blown up, in fact when we get that high, we tend to pass out.
This is the opportunity to show other readers what the hell else is going on:

To be quite honest I do not believe that he did this out of paranoia caused by smoking weed. I truly believe it was caused by Americans killing off the people in his country. To be honest I somewhat feel as though we truly deserve what the future of other countries extremely hating us, we have whatever that want to throw at us coming to us. If the president was smart and not so worried about his communist ways, then maybe we could be saved. Thought, instead he sits back and slowly decreases our military forces/defenses, and now we are supplying guns and making so called peace with a country that just got done destroying our American Embassy… Please, America has lost all hope.

"the U.S. government is killing our innocent civilians," he wrote, presumably referring to Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan. "I can't stand to see such evil go unpunished. . . . We Muslims are one body, you hurt one, you hurt us all," he continued, echoing a sentiment that is cited so frequently by Islamic militants that it has become almost cliché.

We now have to be more alert, due to the fact anyone can be a threat.
"He was just, like, this nice, calm, compliant, pillow-soft kid. My mom would always say, 'Why can't you talk to me the way Dzhokhar talks to his mother?'"

EOC Week 2: Three Examples of Questionable Ethics

Due to advertising tending to be unethical, new restrictions have been made. “The advertising industry has a new ethics code, as the Institute for Advertising Ethics today released a set of eight principles on issues ranging from the blurry line between advertising..”
We are actually unaware of half of today’s advertising. "If consumers are unaware the 'news' or 'entertainment' they are viewing actually is advertising, they are being misled and treated unethically.."
For advertising to me “ethical” it must disclose what they are selling and everything that fully and clearly states that they are selling you some mumbo jumbo. In other words they must tell you the truth behind the product or it then becomes false advertising.
http://adage.com/article/news/advertisers-agencies-ethics-code-review/149464/
“Affiliate links are special codes used to give commissions to people who spread the word about your product or service.”
Affiliate links, are links that are usually don’t disclosed, in other words you are not entirely sure what you are actually clicking on. A lot of the time we may accidently click on a link that brings up a pop up or we click on a link to buy something, we the links we tend to click on usually pay the people advertising it. Yet we were never told this. So to a lot of people that know the truth behind these ads it is seen as truly unethical.
http://news.trafcom.com/2013/02/on-affiliate-links-ethics-and-advertising/
“Captcha (Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart) in other words the squiggly lines and letters you type into the box.” So the words we type in to prove we are human are actually used to advertise. Now we will type in advertising slogans and other things. Advertising is all around us and it seems like we hardly notice it. I find this slightly unfair; the public should know when advertising is being used at all times.
http://www.ethicsinthenews.com/captcha-advertising/

Below is a list of extremely UNETHICAL advertising...

Trying to get people to adopt animals by having a naked woman holding a cross acting like an angel hovering above a bunch of dogs, doesn't make you want to adopt but should be on the cover a playboy, or a more suitable company, Victoria Secret...

A fashion line, sold at Nordstrom’s.
Is to get people to realize that fashion is addicting. That you should love it as much as a drug addict likes drugs…

Snorting a tank top… While looking like your high on cocaine..

Mexx is a clothing company for all ages. In the image given Mexx is selling jeans I believe.
Their strategy seems to try and show different trends in fashion, like a girl wearing boy clothes.
They have tried to sell the product featuring both boys and girls in the same age group, but clearly the image they have come up with shows that yes girls can dress like boys too. Even though this image probably drive pedophiles nuts…

Week 2 EOC : Pinochet and Advertising

Augusto Pinochet tried using military forces in a way that his generals did not agree with, which is actually why they ended his rule. U.S. Officials had warned Chilean leaders that Pinochet would use force to try and stay in power. Pinochet had planned to do whatever was necessary to keep his power. He has even stated; “I’m not leaving, no matter what." The document had showed that the U.S. officials actually backed the anti-Pinochet campaign. A majority of the people denied him presidency at the election that actually forced him to step down. Even though Pinochet stepped down, the yes supporters had still had an influence making it so that Parliament blocked any new reforms.
"Augusto Pinochet was a career army officer and military dictator of Chile from 1973 to 1990. His years in power were marked by inflation, poverty and the ruthless repression of opposition leaders."
“On September 11, 1973, less than 20 days after he was made commander-in-chief of the army, Pinochet ordered his troops to take Santiago and ordered an air strike on the presidential palace.” Allende had died and Pinochet became part of a four-man ruling junta, and then later seized power for himself.
Pinochet and Chile were heavily involved with ‘Operation Condor’, which worked with other governments such as; Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay. Operation Condor was involved in thousands of kidnappings, disappearances, assassinations, and thousands were killed.
Operation Condor got Pinochet into a lot of trouble after he had stepped down from his presidency. While visiting in the UK, his past had caught up with him and his opponents had charged him in Spanish court. “He was charged with several counts of murder, torture and unlawful kidnapping.” Due to Pinochet being in his late 70s in 2002, the charges against him were dropped and it was said that he was unfit for trial. Although in 2006 he was then charged with more crimes but before they could further the charges, Pinochet had died.

EOC Week 1: VW Lemon

The word “Lemon” was used to describe the appearance of the car. They had also used the term “Think small” as a description for their advertising campaign. The campaign they had used made the sales for the VW bug sky rocket. Due to the way that they had advertised, they also changed the concept of advertising. They had pretty much just persuaded a bunch of people and in doing so they had convinced people that persuasion was just “thinking big..”
Sales for the VW Bug had become near impossible due to the fact that Volkswagens were made in Germany and Americans viewed Germany only as “Nazi Germany.”
The VW ads were created by Bill Bernbach’s ad agency in the late 50s. The quote that got me interested is the one Denis Brice had made:
“When a brand’s personality complements our own, we form a friendship with it and give it our trust and loyalty.”
It was a brand that was well developed. Herbie made this campaign even more popular.
German Engineering with a Jewish advertising company… 15 years after the war.
